Buttermilk Syrup

  • 3 Cups of White Sugar
  • 1 Cup of Buttermilk
  • 1 Cup of Butter
  • 1/4 Cup of Corn Syrup
  • 2 Teaspoons of Baking Soda
  • 4 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract


  1. In a large pot, stir together all ingredients.

  2. Bring to a boil, and cook for 3 minutes stirring continually.

  3. Remove from the heat. Serve warm with Buttermilk Pancakes, French Toast, or Waffles.


CAUTION: The baking soda will make the syrup foam up so use a much larger pot than you think you need so it doesn’t boil over.
