Griddled Grapefruit Shandy

  • 2 Grapefruits Cut in Half
  • 4 Oz. of Simple Syrup
  • 4 Oz. of Grapefruit flavored Vodka
  • Corona Beer


  1. Set griddle to high heat. Slice both grapefruits in half and dry off with a paper towel. Using a paper towel, spread a very thin layer of vegetable oil on the griddle top to assist with the caramelization.

  2. For our Simple syrup add equal parts sugar and water to a plastic container with a lid and shake for about 20-30 seconds or until you see the sugar has completely dissolved.

  3. On a plate add 1 TBSP of sugar, 1 Tsp of salt and a dash of cayenne pepper. Coat the glass rim with grapefruit juice and season the glass rim.

  4. In your glass strain and squeeze one half of the grapefruit 1 ounce of simple syrup, 1 ounce of grapefruit flavored vodka, give that a stir and pour in your ice cold Corona, and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
