3 out of 5 Griddle is perfect except for the grease issue

    kenneth moore

I was given the stainless one for Chistmas and love my grill but the grease issue is a pain. I have not tried the jb weld solution yet but have used tin foil to make a little shoot for the grease and that works ok . Really disappointed that with the price of this something so small as a drip hole makes it not perfect. Wish the company would step up and make it right for their customers.

This is the best grill I have ever owned. I got the stainless steel one and love the clean looks of it. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because when you light the first burner it takes it a while to light each other one. The guy who said that his didnt heat up good may have a problem with his gas bottle, I had the same thing happen at first and I took the bottle loose and shook it and put it back and it worked fine.

  3. 3 out of 5 Low Tempature.

    Rick Nofzinger

Seemed like a good idea on paper. In practice, I find that I can no higher than 215 F. Took FOREVER to grill pork chops. Even then, I had to finish them in the oven. Can I return it after I used it once….probably not. Live and learn, I guess. VERY disappointed.

You definitely need to give us a call, it sounds like your regulator needs to be reset. It should be far too hot to touch within minutes. Here is the link to the reset video. All regulators have a safety feature preventing full gas flow into the valves, just sounds like yours has been tripped. If this doesn’t solve it, please call or email us asap. 435-252-3030 x 1 or [email protected]

  4. 4 out of 5 Very happy with the griddle just needs some minor improvements.

    John

Overall I am very happy with the quality of the griddle. They still need to fix the grease leaking down the front right leg. I have seen simple fixes on YouTube however this should be done as part of manufacturing not in after purchase upgrade. For me it is the only thing that kept it from five stars. With that I would still recommend this product for others just watch some videos on how to prepare it before use. One final thing is I took very grades of fine sandpaper and smooth out the griddle top to a class like finish before I ever seasoned it. I have noticed I can use less oil to cook with and it does not want to stick. Even with all of that again I would highly recommend the product and I like the way the stainless steel looks and is easy to clean and does not fade in the sun like some of the other powder coated grills I have purchased in the past. Spend the extra money in by the stainless steel. In the future though I would have spent extra money to get a stainless steel griddle top like you would see at your typical Japanese steakhouse.

Missing most of the hardware. Box had been previously opened. Doesn’t heat up as hot as I expected.

I am sorry to hear that this has been your experience. We do not take returns so there would not be a possibility of a previously opened box if you purchased it directly from us. Our packages all have the original packing straps around them as they come from our factory.

If you need parts please call us at 435-252-3030 x 1 or email [email protected]

As for the griddle not heating up, first thing I would suggest is a regulator reset. Here is a link to how to do that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er0sOanacDs

2 out of 5 Can't completely rate product

    James Henry

I didn’t receive the griddle when promised.
I tried to assemble the griddle but I was missing parts, I immediately called customer support and told them the problem.
The person was very nice and took my information and she said we will get the parts out to you right away.
One week later I’m still waiting on parts.
So I have absolutely no idea how the griddle cooks.
Good thing I didn’t have plans to use the griddle immediately.
Maybe I’ll be able to rate the griddles ability to cook food at some point.

  7. 5 out of 5 Rust Issues

    Tom Rhodes

I live in Florida with high humidity. Would I do better rust-wise with the SS model? Also, when -are the new models coming out?

A really good seasoning the best way to avoid rust. We also sell griddle top carry bags if you would like to store the griddle top indoors as another option. It is difficult in the humidity and salt of Florida. The stainless unit has the same griddle top as the black powder-coat unit.

I am not sure what new models you are referring to. We have several accessories coming as well as a couple new items in the next few months.

  9. 5 out of 5 Great griddle!

    Mike Dixon

I absolutely love my Blackstone griddle. This is my second one. The only things I’d change about it is the hole in the “oil gutter” on the front of the grill would not be there and I’d love to have a stainless top. Other than those 2 things, it’s perfect.

The hole is actually there for the purpose of hanging the griddle top during the sandblasting process. I understand what you are saying and we are working on improvements regarding that. We will have a few options in the very near future. Also, just some information, we tested a stainless griddle top for a few months and really did not like it. It was much more difficult to clean, food stuck to it easier and the temperatures were more difficult to regulate.

  10. 3 out of 5 Good but a few flaws that make it difficult to use.

    Christopher Calisi

The grease trough is a constant source of frustration. It is too small, overflows, getting grease down the front of the grill and down the right leg. If it weren’t for this I would be in love with it but right now I prefer to use my old grill – less mess.

I understand completely. We are continually working on improving this. We use some washers under the left griddle leg pegs to lift it slightly to the right. Also a paperclip folded into a capital T and put it down through the hole. The grease follows the paperclip right down into the grease cup.

We are also coming out with a new and improved top that will have grease management in the rear of the griddle. We feel this will solve the grease issues completely. That will be in the next couple months.

  11. 2 out of 5 Poorly designed packaging

    Jeff McGill

Bought this unit based on a recommendation from a friend. When the unit arrived the box appeared to be in satisfactory condition so it was unpackaged. The base unit had moderate damage (bent panels & broken rivets) as shown in the attached photo. The packaging around the unit was thin and unsatisfactory to protect against normal shipping. Also found that the gas hose was clamped to one of the legs and then the leg was folded for shipment. When the leg was unfolded, the gas line had a permanent flat spot where the fold was located. Now I am tasked with either fixing the unit myself or returning it and hoping that the next one arrives in better condition. Overall a very disappointing experience.

The unit itself will stay the same but we are doing a rear grease management system on the new griddle tops. That should be in the next couple months.

Waiting to see what you bring to my world. I love the 36in griddle and I love the 36in grill topper. Taking a serious look at the Pizza Oven, I think that’s the Italian in me.
